The Gordon House
Gordon House is located on the northeastern coast of Antigua, approximately 20 minutes from the Airport. It is situated on a small, elevated peninsula providing privacy and beautiful views of Dian Bay, Devil’s Bridge National Park and the Atlantic Ocean. The white sand beach of Long Bay is only a ten-minute walk or two-minute drive away.
 | Climate -- Antigua’s climate is impeccable! Temperatures usually range from approximately 85o during the day to 70o in the evening with a constant gentle breeze provided by year-around trade winds. |
| Time -- Antigua falls within the Atlantic Time Zone, placing it one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time, except when daylight savings time takes over, then Antigua time is the same as Eastern Standard Time. |
 | Currency -- Local currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, called an “EC”.The EC is linked with the US Dollar, which varies based on current exchange rate, but on average is about US$1=EC$2.40. Money can be exchanged at local banks in St. Johns for the best rate. US dollars are accepted on the island, though change will often be given in EC. |
 | Driving -- Driving is on the left. Kenneth Charles, the property manager of The Gordon House, has a car rental business and can arrange a rental car and a driver permit for you. His car rental rates are reasonable and his service is quick and hassle-free. For a driver permit you will be required to present a valid driver’s license and pay a license fee, which at this writing is approximately US$20.00. You can pre-arrange your car rental by calling Kenneth at 268-463-2031. |
 | Shopping -- Food shopping can be accomplished in Glansvilles or Willikies, five minutes from the house. More complete shopping is recommended at Galstrons or The Epicurean on Old Parham Road. |
 | Medical -- There are many English trained doctors in Antigua. Kenneth Charles can recommend one if necessary. |
